Dana White: ‘Gustafsson, And DC Will Not Fight Each Other’

Last month, Daniel Cormier lost his grudge match against Jon Jones at UFC 182, and Alexander Gustafsson lost his #1 contender match to Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson.

This left Anthony Johnson as the #1 contender to face Jon Jones at light heavyweight, while former title challengers Alexander Gustafsson and Daniel Cormier were left at the top of a stacked light heavyweight division.

Many fans began calling for a Gustafsson vs. DC title eliminator, with the winner of that bout facing the winner of Jones vs. Johnson, however UFC President Dana White has other plans at the moment.

He spoke at the UFC 183 post-fight press conference:

“Cormier’s got another fight set up right now, and we actually have another fight for Gustafsson, too. After those two fight these fights, it makes sense.”
