Last night, Diego Brandao vs. Jimy Hettes was scrapped from the UFC Fight Pass preliminary card of UFC 183 last minute.

The UFC released a statement which explained that Jimy Hettes passed out backstage, and was taken to a local hospital, according to MMAJunkie.

UFC President Dana White explained after the event, that the doctor ruled Hettes fit to fight, but the NSAC vetoed, and stopped the bout from happening. He also explained that both fighters were paid their ‘show’ money.

“He was backstage, and they’re back there getting ready and warming up, and he fainted, and apparently when he fainted, he was out for like 10 seconds.”

“The doctor evaluated him and said he was OK to fight, and the commission said, ‘Yeah, we’re not going to let him fight,’ which I agree with 100 percent. It’s not worth it, you know?”
