Dana White discusses McGregor’s potential future at lightweight

In addition to the speculation of who Conor McGregor’s next opponent will be, there has been much speculation as to what weight class his next fight will be at.

While some want McGregor and Jose Aldo to have an immediate rematch, Frankie Edgar is still waiting for the title shot he was promised. In addition, McGregor stated prior to his UFC 194 KO win over Aldo that he would like to go up to lightweight after that fight.

On UFC Tonight, UFC President Dana White discussed his thoughts on McGregor possibly moving up to lightweight.

“Conor has said that he would like to win the 155-pound belt and fight four times a year and defend both belts. If anybody can do it, Conor McGregor can. This guy has pretty done everything he said he would do. I’m interested.”

“That is true that normally I would say if you’re going to move up in weight, you have to give up the belt. But Conor has done everything he said he would do. He loves to fight. He really likes money, so if anybody could do it, it’s probably him.”
