Following his dominant, double-bonus earning win over Jimi Manuwa, Alexander Gustafsson was confirmed as the next title challenger in the UFC’s light-heavyweight division.
“If Jones wins, we have a nasty rematch,” UFC President Dana White said at today’s post-fight press conference. “If he doesn’t, then it’s [Gustafsson] and Glover Teixeira.”
Gustafsson faced Jon Jones in a previous title fight last year at UFC 165. He lost the fight via decision, but after five-hard-rounds many believe it was the Swede that deserved victory.
Jon Jones fights for the first time since his bout against Alexander next month in the headlining slot of UFC 172.
