Dana White: Aldo/Mendes Could Still Happen

By bjpenndotcom - July 6, 2014

Frankie Edgar put on an impressive display against BJ Penn tonight and escaped the octagon in good shape. Social media started speculating the possibility of Frankie Edgar stepping in to save the UFC 176 card by facing Chad Mendes in the new main-event, but the UFC President hushed those rumors quickly.

Dana White confirmed during the “TUF 19 Finale” Post Fight Press Conference that Jose Aldo’s injury will only keep him sidelined for 45 days. It is likely that Aldo will still give Mendes a shot at his UFC Featherweight Championship.

If you were Chad Mendes, would you take a fight against Edgar to save the PPV? Would you hold off on fighting to guarantee yourself a shot at the title? Share your thoughts in the comment sections below!
