Cormier vs. ‘Big Country’ Being Considered For UFC 166

July 15, 2013 9:27 am by BJPENN.COM News

In what is being reported as his last fight in the heavyweight division, Daniel Cormier is likely to face one of his many rivals in Roy Nelson at UFC 166: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos III.

UFC 166 is set to take place on October 19 from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

Cormier has mentioned on several occasions that he wants Nelson to be his last opponent at heavyweight before making the eventual trip down to the UFC’s 205 pound division.

The only hang up in these plans is that Roy Nelson is currently unsigned. His UFC contract expired with his last bout and the UFC boss recently told ESPN they are in negotiations.

Dana White also confirmed that if he can resign Nelson in time, this fight is what he is looking to make happen.
