Rising UFC featherweight star, Conor McGregor, has made headlines before for his use of social media. Most recently, the Irishman issued an apology for a comment of his directed at two of the UFC’s biggest female stars, bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey and challenger Miesha Tate.

At one time calling out the entire top-10 list of the UFC’s featherweight division, Conor McGregor may very well be one of the organization’s most vocal fighters, on Twitter at least.
His most recent attention-grabbing tweet: an assessment of the top two women in the UFC’s bantamweight division, Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey.
As part of a Q&A session with fans over Twitter, McGregor responded to the question of his preference of the two women by quoting rap artist Dr. Dre, “One riidin d—k, one lickin ma toessssss (sic).”
McGregor has since deleted the tweet and issued this apology.
“I would like to personally apologize to both Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate. This morning I quoted a song on Twitter in an attempt to make a joke, which I now I see was totally unacceptable and offensive. I have infinite respect for Miesha and Ronda as individuals and as athletes. I have always been a big fan of women’s MMA and the incredible talented athletes that compete in the sport. I regret making this offensive comment and I sincerely apologize to anyone whom I offended, but especially Ronda and Miesha.”
The tone of the apology seems to suggest that McGregor’s management and/or the UFC encouraged the fighter’s words. The desired result came, however, when Tate responded to McGregor, accepting his apology in good humor.
“[I]ts all good (sic), appreciate the apology but I knew you were just joking!” she wrote.
McGregor is currently out recovering from a torn ACL suffered earlier this year. He expects to return to action sometime in the early summer of 2014.Tags: Conor McGregor, miesha tate, mma, MMA NEWS, Ronda Rousey, ufc, ufc news
