UFC executives officially announced that a middleweight showdown between Chris Weidman (9-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) and Tim Boetsch (16-4 MMA, 7-3 UFC) will take place at UFC 155 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The NCAA Division I All-American wrestler, Weidman, will be looking to solidify himself as the #1 contender to Anderson Silva’s middleweight belt with a win over Boetsch. Chris most recently disposed of Mark Munoz in the main event of “UFC on Fuel TV: Munoz vs Weidman”. That impressive victory improved Weidman’s career record to an undefeated 9-0, with 5 of those victories taking place inside the octagon.
Weidman takes on Boetsch, who has gone 4-0 since dropping down to the middleweight division. Those four consecutive victories have come over opponents Kendall Grove, Nick Ring, Yushin Okami and most recently over former Bellator champ Hector Lombard at UFC 149.

The main card is headlined by a heavyweight title fight rematch between champion Junior Dos Santos and former titleholder Cain Velasquez. UFC 155 airs live on pay-per-view following the prelims on FX and Facebook.
