Fan favorite fighter, Chris ‘The Crippler’ Leben may no longer be fighting, but Leben is looking to open up about his time fighting, and his struggles with addiction throughout his career.

Lebrun spoke to MMAJunkie to discuss the book, and why it’s difficult to re-live his often dark past.

“I’ve been with playmates in a penthouse, and I’ve been smoking crack with bums under a bridge. My life has taken me in both directions, kind of at the same time. It will make for good reading, I’ll tell you that. But it’s kind of hard to write it.”

“I’ve been pretty open with a lot of my battles. I think mine is more of a life story than a story about an athlete pursuing a dream. It’s got some very real moments in there.”

“You bring all that stuff back up again, and it isn’t easy. It’s therapeutic, or at least that’s what I’m telling myself. Because reliving a lot of it is tough.”
