| Media favorite and UFC light heavyweight Chael Sonnen hit the news waves once again as he joined Jim Rome on his show to discuss several topics surrounding the UFC, MMA, and, of course, the controversial topic of TRT use in the sport. Sonnen, who is never one to shy away from a controversial argument, went on record explaining his misunderstood suspension by the CSAC a couple years back, his use of TRT, why he uses it, and how he views the use of testosterone in the sport. Bleacher Report provided the transcription from the Jim Rome Show:
“That is inaccurate. I didn’t have high levels (of testosterone), I had a separated T to E (testosterone to epitestosterone) ratio, which is not illegal,” Sonnen stated. “I was in trouble for the disclosure issue and they gave me six months.
“Testosterone’s not illegal, which we all found out. It’s perfectly legal. I followed all the rules as I understood them and yes, I took it to get an edge. I would never take anything if I didn’t think it would help me.”
So what do you think fight fans? Is Sonnen making the case for TRT use in MMA stronger or is he justifying why it should not be allowed in the sport? Let’s hear some opinions on Sonnen’s comments on Jim Rome. Let it roar, Penn Nation!
