Carlos Condit reacts to Robbie Lawler’s injury

By BJPENN.COM News - August 30, 2015

Fight fans will have to wait for a potential “fight of the year” matchup between UFC Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit. The bout was scheduled to headline “UFC 193? in Melbourne, Australia but the champion suffered a thumb injury that forced him off of the card. As a result of the fight getting scrapped, Ronda Rousey’s next defense against Holly Holm has been announced as the new main event.

“The Natural Born Killer” recently spoke with Inside MMA about “Ruthless'” injury and what it means for his future.

“It’s obviously disappointing, but this is something I’ve been through before and it’s really the nature of the sport. At this point, nope, I’m not fighting on the same card, and nope, I haven’t been offered any other opponents. Nothing other than the news that Robbie is out,” he said. “We don’t really have a timeline at this point on his return, but we’ll see. If it’s plausible for that to be my next fight, if he heals up in a decent amount of time, I would like to fight him. I was really really excited about this match up.”
