Caraway: It takes a lot of patience being Miesha Tate’s boyfriend

By Chris Taylor - June 8, 2014

UFC bantamweight fighter Bryan Caraway (19-6 MMA) improved his octagon record to an impressive 4-1 on Saturday night, this by submitting Erik Perez in the second-round of their “UFC Fight Night 42” bout in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The pressure of fight Perez in his own backyard didn’t seem to bother Caraway, as he used dominant grappling technique to wear down the tough Mexican fighter.

Following his victory over Perez, Bryan talked about the difficulties that come along with dating one of the most popular women in the sport:

“It takes a lot of patience to be with somebody as famous as Miesha, a beautiful girl like that,” Caraway said Thursday at UFC Fight Night media day at EXPO New Mexico. “You’ve gotta have some cojones. Try to live a day in my shoes, it is hard, to deal with all that stuff and brush it off your shoulder and to keep rolling. I’ve learned to embrace that. All that hate is fuel. It’s because I’m doing well.”

There’s no denying that Caraway is a talented mixed martial artist and the fact that he’s dating a girl who made Maxim Magazines “Hottest 100 Females” may cause some jealousy, especially from male MMA fans.

“They expect to see her with like GSP,” Caraway said. “Not even him probably. They want to see her with like Brad Pitt.”
