“Canelo” Alvarez and Miguel Cotto embrace after twelve round fight

By BJPENN.COM News - November 22, 2015

While “UFC Fight Night 78” was airing live from Mexico, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Miguel Cotto battled for middleweight supremacy. With mega-star Floyd “Money” Mayweather on the sidelines due to retirement, boxing is looking for the next big thing and “Canelo” Alvarez could easily be just that!

Cotto and Alvarez battled for twelve grueling rounds on Saturday evening in a bout that solidified Alvarez as one of the greats of boxing. Alvarez ducked and dodged Cotto’s punches and countered with the greatest of ease, constantly changing levels keeping his opponent guessing. Cotto weebled and wobbled but he did not all down; He proved to the fans in Las Vegas that he was in the fight the entire time and kept pressing forward despite taking a serious amount of punishment. In the end, it would be Alvarez who got his hands raised in victory.

After the bout, both Alvarez and Cotto embraced in a great showing of sportsmanship. In a sport full of trash-talk, it was nice to see two fighters appreciate the battle they just went through! Check it out in the video above supplied by the great Zombie Prophet!
