Visa issues have apparently thrown a wrench into Friday’s UFC Fight Night 33 event Down Under.
The main event bout between bantamweight’s Mitch Gagnon (10-2) and Alex Caceres (9-5) has been scratched from the card. As reported on MMAjunkie, Gagnon is unable to enter the country due to visa issues. The fight was going to kick off the night’s FOX Sports 1 broadcast
UFC Fight Night 33 takes place in Australia at Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Queensland. The event includes prelims on FOX Sports 2 and MMAjunkie and takes place Saturday in Australia but airs live Friday in the U.S. due to the time difference.
The bout is expected to be rebooked for a future event. Officials haven’t announced if a new bout will be promoted to the main card.
