One of the preliminary fights of the UFC 164 card has seen a last-minute replacement, as undefeated middleweight fighter Brian Houston will replace an injured Derek Brunson.
Houston will now face Yoel Romero in a few weeks, the UFC confirmed Sunday.
The bout will stream live on Facebook prior to the live broadcast of preliminary fights on FOX Sports 1 and the pay-per-view main card.
Houston (4-0) began his professional career just over one year ago, and he enters this fight riding three consecutive first-round knockout victories.
In Romero (5-1), Houston will be facing another vicious striker. Romero is 1-0 in the UFC, scoring a knockout over Clifford Starks in his debut fight. All five of Romero’s victories have been KO’s.
UFC 164 will take place Aug. 31, at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee. It will be headlined by the lightweight title fight between champion Benson Henderson and challenger Anthony Pettis.
