Brazil Commission Says Jorgensen’s ‘BS’ Fight Outcome Stands

Although some might like seeing head-butts legalized in the sport, alas, they are not. That’s something that Scott Jorgensen would like to remind the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA) and it’s director, Cristiano Sampaio, after his recent loss to Jussier Formiga during their bout last weekend, at UFC Fight Night 38 (that took place on March 23, 2014).

According to Jorgensen, Formiga executed a head-butt as he closed the distance during their bout. The head but was quickly followed up by a rear naked choke. Obviously, Jorgensen has a bit of an issue with losing this way, calling it a “bull shit stoppage”.

“He jumps in, clips me with a head butt, I drop, and then wake up in a rear-naked choke. It’s bullshit, I’m pissed…. I don’t think it was intentional. Accidental or not, it dropped me. I’d love to see it turned to a no contest.”

However, in order for the bout to be turned into a no contest, Jorgensen is going to have to hustle and get his complaint into the CABMMA as soon as possible.

According to CABMMA Director Cristiano Sampaio, they have yet to receive any request or complaint from neither him or his team. And without an official request, the CABMMA’s hands are tied.

This is something that Jorgensen definitely needs to take into consideration, considering he is currently on the last leg of his contract with the UFC.

Only winning one out of his last five outings and currently sitting with a three fight losing streak, it may be a good idea for ‘Young Guns’ to get on the ball and do what he can to get his most recent loss off of his record.

Formiga, on the other hand, sees nothing wrong with his performance and victory. Who’d have guessed?

And as far as the alleged head-butt, he had this to say:

“I don’t think it was a head butt. I moved forward and my head hit his chest and he went down. I took the opportunity and took his back. I wanted to go for a leg-lock, but I lost the position and went for the neck.”

My guess is that Formiga must have iron in his forehead. Regardless, if Jorgensen doesn’t file an appeal fast, his life in the UFC may hang in the balance.
