The UFC has added a welterweight bout to its highly anticipated end-of-the-year event, UFC 168: Weidman vs. Silva 2 in Las Vegas. Bobby Voelker will take on William ‘Patolino’ Macario at 170 lbs., most likely on the preliminary card.

UFC officials announced today that welterweights Bobby Voelker and William Macario will be fighting on another at UFC 168 in December.
The UFC 168 card, which will be headlined by two highly anticipated rematches between Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva and between Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate, will take place December 28 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Both Voelker (24-10) and Macario (6-1) have not won in the UFC. Voelker, who came to the UFC from Strikeforce earlier this year, lost first to Patrick Cote by decision and then to Robbie Lawler via KO. He could very well be looking at a must-win situation in this fight.
Macario came into the UFC with a perfect 6-0 record, but he was submitted by Leandro Santos in the second round of his UFC on Fuel 10 fight to suffer his first professional loss. The native Brazilian has never fought to the distance, with five wins by TKO and one by submission. He has never fought past the second round, with five wins coming in less than three minutes.
The UFC has not announced the bout order, but Voelker vs. Macario will likely be a part of the preliminary card.
