Antonio Bigfoot Silva spoke to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour about his suspension which is lifted in September, and how he wants a fight before 2014 is over, and after that he plans on undergoing surgery to remove a tumor on his pituitary gland.
“I need to do this surgery. I need to correct something. Right now I can not use the testosterone. After my fight, I believe I will fight in September, though nothing is set yet, I want to do my surgery. I want to recover like between six to eight weeks.”
With the recent TRT ban, Silva hopes to get his testosterone levels back down to normal with the surgery. Regardless, Bigfoot believes he will have a long and successful career without TRT.
“Some use it for ego, but some people need it as is my case. Unfortunately I really need to use the TRT. But right now with the ban, I am going to keep without it. It was the first time I did it and unfortunately that whole thing happened. That’s okay, I’m going to move forward without TRT and I’m going to keep fighting without it.”Tags: 2014, Bigfoot, featured, mma, surgery, suspension, TRT, tumor, ufc
