Bethe Correia draws ‘Four Horsewomen’ member Shayna Baszler at UFC 176

Ask and you shall receive.

Following her victory over Jessamyn Duke at last month’s UFC 172 event in Baltimore, undefeated women’s bantamweight fighter Bethe Correia (8-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) held up four fingers to indicate “The Four Horsewomen,” and then lowered one to signal both her win, as well as her intentions.

Today, UFC officials announced that Bethe will indeed get her wish and take on another “Four Horsewomen” member, this time in the form of Shayna Baszler (15-8 MMA, 0-0 UFC) at UFC 176 this August.

The “Four Horsewomen” crew is led by UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and includes Jessamyn Duke, Shayna Baszler and Marina Shafir, who recently turned pro.

Shayna Baszler was considered one of the favorites to win Season 18 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” however, she was upset in the second-round by eventual tournament winner Julianna Pena. Baszler was then booked to face Sarah Kaufman at the ‘TUF Nations Finale’ in Quebec City, Canada, but was forced off the card due to an injury. The proud “Four Horsewomen” member will be looking for revenge when she makes her long awaited octagon debut against Correia this August at UFC 176.

UFC 176 takes place August 2 live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The event is headlined by a featherweight title fight rematch featuring champion Jose Aldo taking on challenger Chad Mendes.
