Benson Henderson Offered To Fight Woodley On 24-Hours Notice

By BJPENN.COM News - October 3, 2015

Amid the disappointment and shock after UFC president Dana White announced on Friday that the co-main event for UFC 192, between Tyron Woodley and Johny Hendricks, was canceled, there were a few fighters who took the time to let everyone know that they would be willing to step in to save the fight.

One of those fighters was former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson. ‘Smooth’ now fights at welterweight, after jumping up on short notice to fight Brandon Thatch a while back. Since then he’s decided that he want’s to stick around and will meet Thiago Alves when the UFC travels to South Korea on November 28th.

Henderson wasted no time letting fans know that he can in fact make-weight and be ready to fight by Saturday night.

Unfortunately the UFC didn’t take him up on the offer.

Would you have liked to seen him step in and fight Woodley?
