Beneil Dariush Would Prefer Rematch With Nijem Over Pettis Bout

By BJPENN.COM News - August 29, 2014

Everyone hates losing, but not many people would pass up the opportunity to fight for the UFC title to get a rematch with someone who beat them. Beneil Dariush however would pass up a fight with Pettis to get another crack at Ramsey Nijem, the only blemish on his otherwise undefeated UFC run.

“I don’t have a problem with the guy, it’s just I don’t like losing,” Dariush told MMAJunkie Radio.

“If I had a choice between the title and that guy, I’d pick that guy right now,” Dariush said. “You don’t understand … it’s not easy to lose.”

“I felt like garbage after the fight,” Dariush said of his meeting Nijem. “No excuses, Ramsey was the better man that night, but it’s hard to accept a loss. So the first thing I did was get back into the gym to get better, and hopefully, get back in the win column. Luckily, it happened.”
