Bellator Dynamite Results: Liam McGeary Taps Tito With Inverted Triangle In Round 1, Retains Title

By BJPENN.COM News - September 19, 2015

In the night’s main event champ Liam McGeary took on Tito Ortiz with the light heavyweight title on the line.

The two felt each other out for a little while, then Tito shot in and got the takedown, but McGeary went for a guillotine choke. He held on to it for a little bit, then let it go. Tito stared working from full guard.

Ortiz did what he’s known for, smother and land ground and pound. He passed guard and got to half guard. Tito kept top control and tried to maneuver for a better position. Liam tried for an armbar but Tito got out.

Out of nowhere, Liam locked in an inverted triangle and it only took a short amount of time before Tito tapped.

It really was out of no where. Tito was on top controlling the fight, then he just got caught.

RESULT: McGeary wins via submission (inverted triangle) at 4:41 of round 1
