Mark Hunt said that he’s ready to go and he’s already eyeing another big, bad, heavyweight.
Last week on UFC Tonight, the idea that Mark Hunt could be facing Roy “Big Country” Nelson in Japan was put out, suggesting that everyone was just waiting on a clear bill of health from both fighters (both are currently recouping from broken hands).
Hunt was unable to accept a more recent fight against Brendan Schaub on June 28th because of his injury, but he feels that he would rather skip that match up anyway.
“I feel Roy’s a lot better opponent than Brendan Schaub is. He’s a better fighter and I want to fight the better guys. I love [the idea of fighting in Japan]. I love fighting in Japan. I fought there 70 times. It’s like my second house.”
Hunt feels that Big Country has a similar style and that his unpredictable knockout power is both impressive and creates the sort of fight fans want to see.
“That was amazing. He’s got a bomb in that hand, Dan Henderson power. It’s crazy. The question is: can he withstand [my power]? Honestly, the thing is we’re both heavyweights, anything could happen to anyone. It’s lights out. It’s who lands it, who gets you.”
Hunt is obviously ready to go and is already hyped about the potential matchup, but so far, Nelson hasn’t mentioned anything about the fight.
Do you think Big Country will accept?
