The UFC’s next “Fight for the Troops” show added another bout to its growing card.
UFC veteran Seth Baczynski (18-10) has signed to fight “TUF 16” semifinalist Neil Magny (8-2) in a welterweight bout in November at UFC Fight Night 31, officials announced on Thursday.
“UFC Fight Night 31: Fight for the Troops 3” takes place Nov. 6 at at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. The main card, featuring a recently announced middleweight bout between former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida and Army Bronze Star winner Tim Kennedy, airs on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on Facebook.
Magny was a staff sergeant in the Army National Guard and an All-Army Combatives champion. He will be looking to rebound from his first UFC loss earlier this month. Magny went to Brazil to fight Sergio Moraes at UFC 163 and was submitted in the first round.
Baczynski has dropped two straight fights after a 4-0 run in his second UFC sting, including three stoppages. After a loss to Brad Tavares at the TUF 11 Finale, he went 2-0 outside the promotion, then returned with a four-fight streak that included a submission of Matt Brown, who is now in the top ten. This past December, he dropped a decision to Mike Pierce and in July was upset by newcomer Brian Melancon with a knockout in the first round.
With the addition, the UFC Fight Night 31 card now includes:
Tim Kennedy vs. Lyoto Machida
Rustam Khabilov vs. Jorge Masvidal
Seth Baczynski vs. Neil Magny
