Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira Wants Another Fight with Frank Mir

By bjpenndotcom - April 11, 2014

Whether you are a fan of his from the PRIDE days or not, it was difficult to watch Antonio Rogrigo Nogueira get knocked out the way he did at ‘UFC Fight Night 39’. Roy Nelson earned a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus due to his display of power in the main-event, but it was clear ‘Big Nog’ simply was not what he used to be.

The end of his career may be near.

Before that happens, however, he apparently wants another fight with Frank Mir. In an interview with Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting, Nogueira’s manager claimed that his client was looking to avenge his loss to Mir.

“Maybe a last fight against Frank Mir to square off and retire… He mentioned that way before his fight against Roy Nelson was scheduled. He just can’t live without avenging these loses.”

The stars have to align for a fight like this to happen. First, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira has to recover and decide if he wants to continue fighting. Mir will have to sign off on the bout and more importantly, Dana White will have to allow it to happen.

Frank Mir is on a four fight losing streak.
