Anthony Pettis spent a long time away from the octagon and he wants to get right back in there after his victory over Gilbert Melendez tonight at UFC 181.

At the post fight press conference, Pettis was asked if he was willing to fight #2 ranked lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov. His response was quick and positive for fight fans. Pettis claimed to be injury free and ready to fight Nurmagomedov whenever he wanted.

Nurmagomedov is currently undefeated at 22-0 and has defeated six UFC fighters in a row. His latest victory over Rafael dos Anjos in April 2014 likely solidifed him as the next contender for Pettis’ lightweight championship.
