It looks like “The Spider” may end his career with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Anderson Silva signed a new 10-fight contract. UFC President Dana White confirmed at the Herald Square Takeover in Manhattan, N.Y. yesterday that the middleweight champion signed the contract.

Before Silva signed the contract, he had two fights remaining with Zuffa. One of those fights will be his upcoming title defense fight against Chris Weidman. Silva (33-4), who is undefeated in the UFC, will go head-to-head with Weidman (9-0) at UFC 162: Silva vs. Weidman at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. slated on July 6, 2013.

White also said Silva signed the long-term deal this past December. But one month later, Silva’s manager, Ed Soares, said the deal was not inked yet.

Silva is the UFC’s longest reigning champion and also holds the longest winning and title defense streak in the promotion. He holds 16 consecutive wins in the UFC and 10 title defenses.
