World Series of Fighting returned to the airwaves with “WSOF 24: Fitch vs. Okami” and it was a night filled with emotions after the inspirational Nick Newell announced his retirement after his fight.

The lightweight started gaining momentum while fighting for XFC where he won their lightweight championship while putting together an impressive undefeated record, but it was at World Series of Fighting where truly made a name for himself. Newell won two fights in the decagon before suffering his first loss to Justin Gaethje, failing to pick up the WSOF Lightweight Championship in the process. After another win against Tom Marcellino at “WSOF 24”, Newell chose to call it a career and retire.
