Alexander Gustaffson Believes He Will Be Offered The Next Shot Against Jon Jones

By BJPENN.COM News - June 1, 2013

When it comes to the UFC’s light-heavyweight division, there are not too many guys left for Jon Jones to face.

Having beat the entire roster from the old guard, Jones now looks at a new list of contenders who are far less established than the likes of a Rampage Jackson or ‘Shogun’ Rua.

The likely top prospect for a crack at Jones is Sweden’s Alexander Gustaffson.

He has been campaigning for the fight as of late and Jones seem to favor the matchup as well.

The Swedish wrecking machine recently had a chat with Ariel Helwani about his title hopes:

“He wants to fight me, and I want to fight him … [The UFC hasn’t] offered me the fight yet. I’m just really hoping to get some answers soon … I’m really hoping for it, and I think I will get the fight. I think I will be offered a title fight very soon. Nothing is set or signed, though … I’m not going to be quiet anymore, I really want this fight. I really want to fight Jones. It’s on. It’s on. I will do anything I can to make it happen … I hope I can fight him as soon as possible. I’m in full training waiting for some news.”
