Alessio Sakara vs. Tom Watson Set For ‘UFC Fight Night 30’

By BJPENN.COM News - August 21, 2013

A middleweight clash between Alessio Sakara and Tom Watson has been booked for the UFC’s return trip to England.

UFC officials confirmed the news via their official twitter account.

‘UFC Fight Night 30; Bisping vs. Munoz’ is set to go down on October 26th from the Manchester Arena in Manchaster, England. The event will air on the new home for UFC programming, FOX Sports 1.

Sakara hasn’t seen the inside of a cage since a November DQ loss to Patrick Cote at UFC 154. The defeat marked his third straight and put him in a must win situation coming into his fight with Watson.

Watson will enjoy the home field advantage in this fight. He last saw action in a losing effort to Thales Leites earlier this month at UFC 163. The defeat made his overall UFC record just 1-2 and will likely need a win, just like his opponent, to keep his employment with the UFC secure.

So far the UFC Fight Night 30 card looks as follows:

Michael Bisping vs. Mark Munoz
Melvin Guillard vs. Ross Pearson
Phil Harris vs. John Lineker
Ryan Jimmo vs. Jimi Manuwa
Jimy Hettes vs. Mike Wilkinson
Anthony Njokuani vs. Paul Taylor
Alessio Sakara vs. Tom Watson
