The featherweight champion, Jose Aldo, will return to action in front of his fellow Brazilians in October when he faces off with top contender Erik Koch at UFC 153.
The bout was originally slated for UFC 149, however Aldo was forced out with an injury and the UFC has no rebooked the title match.
UFC 153 is expected to go down in Rio at the HSBC Arena; however UFC officials have yet to announce the card as official or give an exact date.
Aldo hasn’t seen action since defending his title successfully against Chad Mendes at UFC 142. The Mendes win marked his eleventh straight since being employed by ZUFFA.
Koch has quickly become one of the most talked about featherweight fighters currently residing on the UFC roster. He is riding a four-fight win streak including his most recent win over TUF 12 winner Jonathan Brookins at UFC Fight Night 25.Tags: featured, mma, MMA NEWS, ufc, ufc news
