Strangely, both Alan Belcher and Antonio Rogerio Nogueria have mysteriously disappeared from the UFC rankings. Earlier this week, both fighters were sitting happily within the top 15 of their respected weight classes. However, within the last day or so, their names have been removed.
In regards to Alan Belcher, he recently stated that he’s decided to take a vacation from the sport after his decision loss to Michael Bisping at UFC 159. So, it’s logical to assume that he’s been taken off of the rankings due to inactivity.
As for Lil’ Nog, his last outing came at the expense of (and to everyone’s surprise) Rashad Evans, at UFC 156. So, unless Lil’ Nog has gone on hiatus and not told anyone, then it seems a bit strange that he’d be removed from the rankings. He was also offered a bout with former UFC Middleweight Champion Rich Franklin recently. A bout in which Franklin turned down.
According to BloodyElbow.com, they’ve received word from UFC officials stating that both men are, in fact, still under contract with the organization.
BJPenn.com will be sure to update you on any progression into the story.
As of March 25 9:00pm both fighters have been returned to UFC rankings according to @UFCFIGHTERiNFO on Twitter.Tags: Alan Belcher, Antonio Rogerio Nogueria, mma, ufc, ufc rankings
