UFC 148 is just around the corner and all the talking will stop when Silva faces Sonnen for the second time.
The Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva is fired up more than ever before. He stated that he plans to send Sonnen to the emergency room and break his face and teeth. Silva also has the chance to extend his records for the most consecutive title defences which currently stands at nine, also the record for the most consecutive wins inside the UFC which currently stands at fourteen.
The challenger Sonnen at UFC 117 dominated Silva for four and a half rounds before falling victim to a late submission. Sonnen since then has gone on to defeat Brian Stann and Michael Bisping on his route back to the number one contender spot.
In the lead up the the UFC 148 main event Anderson Silva has remained the favorite. Oddsmaker Nick Kalikas of BetonFighting.com breaks down where the money is going.
“Most sportsbooks getting a little more action on Silva early on. Action is also coming in steady on Chael but not quite as much so line has shifted to -275 Silva. Going all the way back to last November, my opener was -240. I think we will see strong support come back in on Chael by fight day. Regardless of where line ends up most places will end up with near two way action on this fight.”
However since this correspondence, the line moved again to -285 Silva.
