After the news of canadian welterweight, Rory MacDonald pulling out of his UFC 158 bout with Carlos Condit earlier today, Johny Hendricks was named the replacement. Hendricks was previously scheduled to face Jake Ellenberger also at UFC 158, but Ellenberger will now fight a new opponent, likely to be Tyron Woodley.

According to MMAJunkie.com, Dana White said that Strikeforce welterweight champion, Tarec Saffeidine turned down the offer to fight Carlos Condit on under one month’s notice. Saffeidine is coming off a decision victory over Nate Marquardt January 12 in the main event of Strikeforce’s final card.

Jake Ellenberger may in fact be opposite Tyron Woodley come March 16 which would make a great matchup. Woodley coming off an impressive first round knockout over Jay Hieron at UFC 156. Nathan Marquardt has also voiced interest in taking the Ellenberger fight.

UFC 158 was referred to by White as a “welterweight tournament” previously. Woodley had voiced interest to be a replacement on this card before one was even needed, and may have his wish granted if he gets Ellenberger

UFC 158 takes place March 16 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The main event of the welterweight heavy card will be UFC welterweight champion, Georges St. Pierre defending his belt against Nick Diaz.
