UFC 191 Results: Paige VanZant Goes Non-Stop, Puts A Beating On Chambers

By BJPENN.COM News - September 5, 2015

In the first fight on the main PPV card, UFC strawweights Paige VanZant took on Alex Chambers.

They clinched early and landed some dirty boxing then broke away. Again they grabbed each other and went to work. VanZant put her on the cage and started throwing knees. Chambers didn’t hold back, she threw her own strikes in the clinch.

They broke away but VanZant then put her back on the cage. Chambers went for a takedown but VanZant managed to stay up. Again VanZant put her on the cage and tried to land knees. That seemed to be VanZant’s go to, putting her on the cage and kneeing her in the body. Chambers got desperate and tried to drop down for a leg lock, but failed.

In the second it was a lot of the same. VanZant pushed her on the cage and worked tight strikes. Chambers had no answer what so ever. VanZant just kept the pressure up. She got Chambers down right before the round ended.

In the third round VanZant did what she always seem to do and put a beating on Chambers. Eventually she got her down and pounded her, then locked up a lighting fast armbar. Chambers tapped right away.

RESULT: VanZant wins via submission (armbar) at 1:01 of round 3
