After Yoel Romero’s win over Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza at UFC 194, a simple tweet from a fan likely sparked a new beginning for Romero and former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones. Jones replied to a fan tweet that asked, “what do you think about Yoel Romero?”

Jones replied that he thought highly of the former Olympian and wished that he would go to JacksonWink MMA to train with their team.

Romero saw the tweet and responded that it would be an honor to do just that and it looks like it is all coming together.

On Monday, Yoel Romero made a six-month suspension agreement with USADA for an anti-doping policy violation after testing positive for a prohibited substance from a contaminated supplement. Come a day later after coming to terms with the consequences of his violation, Romero got on a plane to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Romero posted this photo with his plane tickets that read, “I hope @jonnybones is ready for me #ironsharpensiron #albuquerque #ufc #wrestling #mma #bjj.”
