There was a big surprise in New York at the UFC 205 weigh-ins.

In addition to the stacked card of fighters making UFC 205 arguably the greatest card in UFC history, former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey made an appearance and had a faceoff with the current champion Amanda Nunes.

The two fighters squared up in front of the packed crowd in New York to promote UFC 207, which takes place on December 30 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“She’s the fighter I asked for,” Nunes said as Rousey did not stay on stage to speak. “I trained for this girl my whole career UFC and now I have the chance to defend my belt against her. It’s gonna be amazing.

“You guys ready for this battle? Oh yeah,” Nunes said to the crowd.

Ronda Rousey will return to competition after taking over a year off since she suffered her first professional MMA loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 back in November 2015. Rousey will get her chance to get her belt back as she is scheduled to take on Nunes for her title in a five-round fight.

Amanda Nunes, on the other hand, will look to defend her title for the first time as her last win over Miesha Tate at UFC 200 made her the UFC champion of the women’s bantamweight division. Nunes put on a devastating performance in her fight with Tate and will look to do the same in her bout against Rousey.
