Saturday night at ‘UFC Fight Night: Albany’, undefeated featherweight prospect Shane Burgos stepped into the Octagon for the first time.

Burgos’ undefeated 7-fight win streak has seen him pick up 7 straight finishes. At ‘UFC Fight Night: Albany’ he stepped into the Octagon against Tiago dos Santos e Silva, who was entering the fight after a split decision winnower Clay Collard over a year ago.

Collard wins

Burgos was able to keep his unbeaten record in tact as he ultimately secured a unanimous decision win over dos Santos e Silva. The most shocking part of the fight however came between the second and third rounds when Burgos’ cornerman produced a pair of scissors and proceeded to chop off not only Burgos’ ponytail, but also most of his hair!

The moment was certainly the first haircut inside the Octagon, and was quickly put on social media. Check it out above!

Burgos spoke in his post-fight Octagon interview about the moment, saying:

“I told my corner that if the fight goes past the first round and my hair is getting in my face to cut it [pony tail] off,” Burgos said. “It wasn’t getting in my face the first round, but it started to in the second, so I told them to cut it off. It was pretty memorable, but it was planned beforehand. That was the first Octagon haircut, right? I think that’s worth a bonus, fight of the night maybe?”
