Remember this?

Back in July of 2008, UFC veteran Phil Baroni made a successful drop to the 170-pound ranks when he scored a highlight reel one-punch knockout victory over Scott Jansen at the “Cage Rage 27: Step Up” event which took place at Wembley Arena in London.

A few moments after landing the massive right hand, which left his opponent unconscious, the “New York Bad Ass” went back to check on the condition of Jansen. It was at that time that Scott’s brother came in and attacked Baroni with a headbutt.

Baroni took the high road at the event’s conclusion stating the following about the incident.

“These things happen,” Baroni told Cage Rage after the fight. “It must be tough to see a loved one get knocked out like that. Emotions ran high. I wanted to put this behind me.”

Phil Baroni recently took to Twitter where he called out former WWE Champion turned MMA fighter CM Punk (Phil Brooks).

Baroni has not competed inside the cage since suffering a knockout loss to Karo Parisyan at the Bellator 122 event in July of 2014.

“The New York Bad Ass” has gone 1-3 over his past four fights, with his lone victory coming over Rodrigo Ribeiro under the ONE Fighting banner in August of 2012.
