On Wednesday, the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor boxing bout was officially announced and will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 26. The fight that many thought would never take place, including UFC President Dana White, is just a little over two months away.

Following the announcement, the combat sports world reacted in different ways. Nate Diaz, the rival of Conor McGregor and the last one to defeat the current UFC lightweight champion chimed in on the fight announcement on social media but was also caught out on the streets of Los Angeles following the “All Eyez on Me” movie premiere that took place at Westwood Village Theaters on Wednesday night.

When asked for his prediction for who wins the fight, Diaz said, “We’ll see what happens.” Diaz is later asked if McGregor stands a chance and has a similar answer and simply says “watch and find out.”

As far as a future trilogy fight between Diaz and McGregor, the Stockton slap specialist was asked if we’ll see the rubber match take place. Diaz replied, “We’ll see. I have a lot of stuff going on,” while throwing some punches at the cameras. Diaz left the camera crews and reiterated his message from social media and said, “They’re fighting for the number two spot.”

How do you think the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor go? Will McGregor be able to land the KO shot? Will Floyd connect with any punches that rock “The Notorious” like Diaz did at UFC 196? Or could McGregor’s MMA style of striking present something different that Mayweather will have trouble figuring out? Will age play a factor with Mayweather being 40-years-old and McGregor turning 29-years-old in July? There are many questions in this matchup that will all be answered on August 26 but let’s get your opinion in the comment section!
