Stephens, who has come down from 155-pounds will look to make a statement over the former champion and has the capability to do so in devastating fashion. With 16 of his 24 professional wins coming by KO/TKO, “Lil’ Heathen” is looking to finish the fight.
Barao has not fought since losing to T.J. Dillashaw in their rematch back in July 2015 and will be stepping up a weight class for this fight. Barao has said the cut to 135 has been too taxing and feels fighting closer to his natural weight will give him the edge he needs to get back into championship form.
UFC Fight Night 88 takes place on May 29 and will air on FS1.
