VIDEO | Khabib Nurmagomedov attempts to guess the plots of Western romantic comedies

By Tom Taylor - February 28, 2017

Khabib Nurmagomedov is a monster. He is a ruthless destroyer with a proficiency for breaking his opponents’ will inside the cage, and a habit of calling it like it is outside the cage. He is bellicose, he is ferocious, he is mean.

Needless to say, the Dagestani lightweight is not a big watcher of romantic comedies – let alone Western ones. So, when he was asked by The Chive to guess the plots of beloved Western rom-coms, the result was unsurprisingly hilarious. Watch this segment in full at the top of this clip.

The first film Nurmagomedov is asked about is When Harry Met Sally. After briefly guessing that the film is about Dirty Harry, he assures he doesn’t “give a sh*t about this movie.”

Nurmagomedov is then asked about Love Actually the widely adored British ensemble film. The Dagestani star explains that he doesn’t like movies about love, and assures that “too much movie make your heart weak.” Cold-blooded.

The last movie Nurmagomedov is asked about is Never Been Kissed. After brushing the film itself off, the lightweight star says that Drew Barrymore is “not bad” and wonders why nobody has kissed her. Great stuff.

Part of the reasons Nurmagomedov is so disinterested in these romantic comedies, of course, is that he’s days away from a massive interim lightweight title fight with Tony Ferguson.

He will enter this fight with a flawless, 24-0 record. When we last saw him in action, he defeated the dangerous Michael Johnson with a third-round kimura on the undercard of UFC 205. Other highlights of his record include defeats of former champ Rafael Dos Anjos, as well as Pat Healy, Abel Trujillo and Gleison Tibau. His opponent, Ferguson, will step onto the canvas having recently extended his win-streak to nine with a thrilling decision defeat of Dos Anjos.

Did Khabib Nurmagomedov’s assessment of these rom-coms give you a laugh? Sound off, PENN Nation!
