If there was any truth to Floyd Mayweather saying that his fight with Conor McGregor would be his last, International Boxing Hall of Fame anchor Jim Lampley isn’t believing it for a second.

We recently saw Mayweather post a couple of training videos to social media and the speculation has been going around on if there was any meaning behind them.

TMZ caught up with Lampley to get his opinion and the sports anchor gave it his all.

“Why should he retire? He created a marvelous scam with this whole thing,” Lampley told TMZ. “He allowed Conor to quote ‘win’ three rounds so that the whole global MMA wish community could have something to latch on to. I think there’s a decent chance there are enough suckers out there Floyd could maybe make another $150 million. Why not?”

TMZ confirmed with Lampley if he thinks Mayweather threw the first three rounds against McGregor and Lampley said it was obvious. When asked if he would bet that Mayweather and McGregor have a rematch, the four-time Sports Emmy Award winner put it rather simply.

“So we’re betting on the question of whether Floyd wants to make another $150 million? Why would that even be a bet?” Lampley said. “Why else is he putting videos of him working out? Why did he allow Conor McGregor to ‘win’ three rounds? Why did the whole thing last 10 rounds, etcetera? It’s all a setup.”

Do you agree with the man who has covered combat sports for 30 years? Or do you think Floyd Mayweather is really finished fighting in the ring? Let’s discuss this in the comment section.
