Dana White interview

UFC President Dana White discusses all of the results from last night’s UFC 203 pay-per-view event in Cleveland, Ohio, in the above video.

In the evening’s main event, UFC heavyweight champion and Cleveland native Stipe Miocic successfully defended his title for the first time by scoring a first-round knockout victory over dangerous striker Alistair Overeem.

Overeem was able to drop Miocic with a punch early in the opening round but was unable to finish the hometown favorite with an attempted guillotine choke shortly after scoring the knockdown. Miocic would eventually get Overeem on the ground where he unleashed some brutal ground and pound that culminated in the first-round finish.

In the evening’s co-main event former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum scored a unanimous decision victory over Hawaiian Travis Browne. Following the bout, the Brazilian specialist almost got in to a brawl with one of “Hapa’s” coaches, but thankfully cooler heads prevailed.

Also on the card was the debut of former WWE champion CM Punk who took on undefeated prospect Mickey Gall. Unfortunately for fans of the former professional wrestler, Punk was dominated by Gall and suffered a first-round submission loss in a bout that served as his first career professional mixed martial arts fight.
