The Notorious one

The MMA community thought they were being pranked by UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor on Tuesday when he tweeted that he has decided to retire. The subject gained much more attention after the UFC announced that they had pulled McGregor from the main event fight against Nate Diaz at UFC 200.

UFC President Dana White gave McGregor an option to talk it over with him if he called to discuss things on Tuesday to keep his scheduled bout with Diaz at UFC 200. Unfortunately for fans of “The Notorious,” no call was made.

“This is UFC 200, obviously, you know, $10 million is going to be spent on marketing; the commercial alone that’s being shot right now is over a million dollars,” White said on UFC Tonight. “So Friday isn’t the first day (of promotion). He’s already missing stuff. The window is pretty much closed.”

It seems the only question now is if Conor McGregor is truly retired, or if he will jump on another big UFC card later this year.
