BJ Penn gives his first update following Dennis Siver fight booking!

Former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion BJ Penn will return to the octagon on June 25 in Oklahoma City to battle Dennis Siver on the main card of UFC Fight Night 112.

The UFC Hall of Famer, Penn, released the above video where he touched on his upcoming fight with Siver, as well as his loss to Yair Rodriguez which occurred this past January in Phoenix, Arizona.

“What’s up everybody! I just wanted to say what’s up to BJPENN.com and see how everybody is doing,” stated The Prodigy. “I’m going to start uploading videos more often. I’ve got a fight coming up now. We are fighting Dennis Siver and yeah, that’s it.”

He continued:

“The last fight (with Yair Rodriguez), I’m sure plenty of people got a lot of questions. Probably like ‘Oh you were training so hard’ and this and that. All of that stuff. But actually, all of the training that you guys saw was like a year ago training because the UFC came to film us so many times due to the fight kept getting pushed back. So it was just a long, long drawn out process and the fight went the way it did. I wish we would have had a better result. But yea, we are just going to continue doing what we love and we are now going to fight the original opponent that we were supposed to fight (Dennis Siver) and see how everything goes. So stay tuned and you guys will see some videos. Thank you.”

“The Prodigy” was last seen in action this past January in the main event of UFC Fight Night 103 in Phoenix, where he suffered a second-round TKO loss to surging division contender Yair Rodriguez.

Penn’s most recent victory came over former UFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes at UFC 123, who he defeated via knockout in just 21-seconds.

BJ Penn has scored thirteen finishes in his sixteen career victories including seven knockouts and six submissions.

Meanwhile, Dennis Siver has not competed inside the octagon since suffering a decision loss to Tatsuya Kawajiri in June of 2015.

Siver’s most recent victory came in October of 2014 against Charles Rosa.
