Top ranked welterweight campaigns for fill-in fight with Nate Diaz

Since UFC President Dana White announced that Conor McGregor had been pulled from his UFC 200, there has been much question as to who would fill the slot opposite Nate Diaz in the biggest event in UFC history.

While the UFC has yet to reveal who the lucky fighter will be, top ranked welterweight Tyron Woodley, who is expected to get the next welterweight title shot, is offering to fill the slot against Diaz.

Woodley was named the welterweight #1 contender after a weight-cutting mishap left Johny Hendricks unable to compete in their scheduled UFC 192 bout.

While UFC President Dana White has stated that Woodley will likely be the next man to contest Robbie Lawler’s welterweight championship, it appears Woodley would be willing to fight Diaz in the meantime.
