In early February Stephen Thompson squared off against Johny Hendricks in the main event of what was supposed to be UFC 196.

After Fabricio Werdum and Cain Velasquez both withdrew from the main event spot the UFC promoted the co-main event bout between Hendricks and Thompson to the main event.

Ultimately, ‘Wonderboy’ scored an incredible 1st round TKO win, becoming the first man to stop Johny Hendricks in his professional MMA career.

After the win there was much talk of who Thompson would face next. While some wanted him to challenge Robbie Lawler for the welterweight championship, Joe Rogan says the UFC has other plans.
