UFC Liverpool: Thompson vs. Till Fight Card
The octagon invades Liverpool, England on Saturday May 27 for UFC Fight Night 130.
The event is headlined by a key welterweight tilt featuring former two-time division title challenger Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson taking on surging division contender and Liverpool native Darren Till.
Arguably the UFC’s best striker, “Wonderboy” was most recently seen in action at November’s UFC 217 event where he scored a unanimous decision victory over the always dangerous Jorge Masvidal.
Since joining the UFC ranks Thompson has scored a plethora of memorable wins including knockout victories over Jake Ellenberger, former welterweight champion Johny Hendricks and current UFC middleweight title holder Robert Whittaker.
“Wonderboy” now takes his talents overseas where a “Gorilla” awaits him in the form of undefeated welterweight Darren Till.
The co-main event of UFC Fight Night 130 was expected to feature a battle between perennial UFC welterweight contenders Gunnar Nelson and Neil Magny.
Unfortunately for fight fans, Gunnar Nelson recently suffered a knee injury that will require surger and has thus been pulled from the card.
The UFC is still hoping to have Neil Magny participate on the card but no replacement opponent for Gunnar Nelson has been named at this time.
