UFC Glendale Results: Antonio Carlos Junior submits Tim Boetsch

A middleweight scrap between Tim Boetsch (21-12 MMA) and Antonio Carlos Junior (11-2 MMA) served as the featured bout of tonight’s UFC on FOX 29 prelims in Glendale, Arizona.

Round one begins and Boetsch lands a hard low kick. Carlos Junior attempts to return fire with a right hand but misses. Both men seem happy to stand and trade early as they wing punches at one another. Carlos Junior with a nice inside low kick. He follows that up with a jab. Boetsch counters with a right hand over the top but eats another hard low kick for his efforts. Carlos Junior presses forward with a jab followed by a low kick. He lands a crisp straight right hand. Antonio with a high kick and then a flurry of punches behind it. He is looking sharp early. Boetsch misses with a wild right hand and then gets countered by a right hand from ACJ. Another wild right from Tim fails to find a home. Carlos Junior shoots in but Tim is able to keep the fight standing. The fighters battle in the clinch along the cage. Antonio with a nice knee. He attempts a trip but Tim is wise to it. ACJ drops for a double leg and scores a nice takedown. Boetsch attempts to scramble but can’t get back to his feet. ACJ begins dropping bombs. He takes the back of Boetsch and locks in a rear-naked choke. This submission is deep. Tim is forced to tapout. Wow! What a performance from Antonio Carlos Junior.
